UNCLE BUNKLE’S HUMPTY DUMPTY

About

Could you be the next Humpty Dumpty?

Uncle Bunkle thinks so! He’s well-intentioned but befuddled, a harbinger of doom as well as a peddler of remedies. In this case, he’s stumbled upon the possibility that his niece and nephew might dabble with risky behaviors, such as parachuting…or sitting on walls! Just look at what happened to Mr. Dumpty!

He implores them to, please, avoid such reckless behavior! But if they ignore his sage advice, he’s happy to provide a detailed discussion of remedies. For starters, don’t rely on the King’s horses! Second, don’t forget: peeling you up may prove difficult, but don’t forget your manners! Be sure to thank your rescuers. Furthermore, he believes bicycle pumps might prove useful, unless you float about or leak!

Uncle Bunkle’s Humpty Dumpty is a quirky, delightful children’s book that combines fantasy, humor, and valuable life lessons into one unforgettable read. With playful rhymes and hilarious scenarios, this picture book for kids (and uncles!) captures young imaginations while gently teaching responsibility, empathy, friendship, courtesy, and creative problem-solving. The bilingual format also makes it a great choice for families or classrooms exploring Spanish and English kids’ books.

Whether you’re an avid collector of fractured fairy tales or searching for the perfect gift for reckless adventurers, this story stands out for its charming illustrations and cheeky humor. Uncle Bunkle’s Humpty Dumpty is a richly illustrated, ridiculous journey, and a reliable, snickering, read-aloud experience the whole family can enjoy!

Praise for this book

Unkle Bunkle often came to my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade multi-aged classroom and thoroughly entertained the kids with his funny poems and whimsical stories. I am retired now, but I know this story of Humpty Dumpty would have been a read-aloud hit. I think kids will love the silliness of Unkle Bunkle’s warnings about being a “failure as a sitter” and possibly having to be re-inflated when flattened, if a fall off of the wall should occur. As a bonus, it is written in English and Spanish!

I enjoyed this book because it was quite abstract and a little bit psychedelic. I'm not quite sure what age group of children this would appeal to. It's a funny tale with a series of rich illustrations. I'm guessing eight years to adult, but I'm not really sure. I think younger children may enjoy visiting this curious world as well. It's a fun read for children of all ages.

Uncle Bunkle's Humpty Dumpty is nothing short of quirky and whimsical, with a good dash of humour. This interpretation of the Humpty Dumpty rhyme involves the risk-taking perspective of sitting on a wall, and the reasons not to do it! The illustrations are eye-catching and just as quirky as the text. Highly recommend for the age range, 6-9 years.
