 Another kids' book that I would also highly recommend to adults with a good sense of humor. I have a weakness for dinosaur books, but this one is legitimately good. The illustrations are hilarious and really did remind me of Edward Gorey's style. The rhythm and rhyme were perfect, and the words themselves were clever, creative, and funny. This book is illustrated in black and white and seeing the Dino’s dresses in elegant clothes was so funny. It was my favorite part of the book. This is a story on what to do if you catch a dinosaur. SYNOPSIS

Dinosaurs have been spotted running wild through the neighborhood, scaring the cats, and knocking over garbage cans. Fortunately, children have proven to be particularly helpful with dinosaur wrangling, as documented in Catching Dinos.
Well-intentioned, quirky, and perhaps in over his head, Uncle Bunkle shares questionable advice about what to do when dinosaurs descend on your neighborhood. His tips range from catching dinos (using nets, whistles, and animal crackers) to taming them (with long walks and invitations to dinner). But can they really learn to fit in? Possibly—with help from clever kids along the way.

“Have your neighbors been ignoring shaking ground and distant roaring? Just calmly reading Mother Goose while dinosaurs are running loose”? asks the narrator in this charming children’s book by Uncle Bunkle. If so, then you might want to keep an eye out for dinosaurs running wild and be careful what you teach them, too.

Because dinos running wild pose a threat to every child, Uncle Bunkle offers some sage – or perhaps not so sage – advice on how to catch a dinosaur. This ranges from catching a dino with a net or a using a special dino whistle. Maybe animal crackers will get the job done?

But once a dinosaur is caught, then what? That question opens a whole ‘nother can of fossils in this delightful story that’s equal parts wit and whimsy. Can you tame or pacify a dino? Take one out on walks? (Don’t forget the pooper scooper!) And what to do with a dinosaur at a family feast? Can you teach a dino what (or who) to eat and not eat? How it turns out all depends on what you teach your dino friends.

The illustrations really make this story. A clever blend of entertainment and inspiration, they complement the text beautifully and will keep young readers engaged and turning pages until the very end.
